Shaanxi Red Oil Cake Recipe

Ingredients for Shaanxi Red Oil Cake:
– 1 jin (500g) of flour


– 5 grams of yeast


– 5 grams of baking powder


– 5 grams of salt


– Suitable amount of cooking oil



Instructions for making Shaanxi Red Oil Cake:


1. Start by adding 100 grams of boiling water to 1 jin (500g) of flour.


2. Add 5 grams of yeast, ensuring it’s not placed directly on the boiling water.


3. Incorporate 5 grams of baking powder and 5 grams of salt.


4. Add cold water to form a dough.


5. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into rounds.


6. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to make thin sheets.


7. Poke a small hole in the center of each sheet.


8. Fry the sheets in oil heated to 70% heat until they turn golden brown.


9. Check the outcome after frying.
